What is the Ambassador Program?

Our Ambassador Program is the conduit through which Sebastian and Mathon can tell their amazing stories in person: accounts of being wounded by gunfire, walking overland five years, covering thousands of miles, living in refugee camps, and finally resettling in the United States and becoming US citizens.

Their presentations include riveting descriptions not only of their harrowing stories, but important details about how Building Minds in South Sudan is changing lives: hundreds of excited children attending BMISS-funded schools, new water towers irrigating women-owned gardens, women opening tea shops, restaurants and even breweries. These BMISS programs provide life-changing benefits to women entrepreneurs and school children from kindergarten through college, all due to the generosity of American students, Rotary clubs, faith communities, philanthropists and many individual donors. The Ambassador Program is our major funding initiative.

Testimonial

“Today I heard and saw a wonderful program at my Rotary Club meeting, and that does not happen enough at all clubs. I heartily recommend "Building Minds in South Sudan" presented by Sebastian Maroundit. He is one of "The Lost Boys" from Sudan and is now building schools in South Sudan. He is much more interesting than I can briefly present. Our club was absolutely silent when he spoke. That was a first. Q & A was very active. Worth your time.”
